Martín Alexander Arellano is an award winning conductor and composer of Nicaraguan & Mexican descent, from California, USA currently based in Los Angeles. He is a multi laureate of the 2024/2025 American Prizes—winning in Opera Conducting, and placing four other categories. In 2023, he received the second jury prize at the Opéra de Baugé International Conducting Competition in France. Alex is the Conductor of the Santa Clarita Symphony Orchestra in the Los Angeles area, as well as the founder and current Music Director of the North Bay Chamber Orchestra in Tampa, FL. Alex holds conducting degrees from the Strasbourg Conservatoire in France and the University of Iowa in the US.
Alex was invited as a Conducting Fellow with the Allentown Symphony (PA) in 2022 and the Miami Symphony in the 2016-2017 season. He has been on the podium in front of the Orchestre National de Metz, Lexington Philharmonic, Saratoga Orchestra, and Aiken Symphony.
